Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Korean Learning Club respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have.
1. Who We Are
Korean Learning Club
Utrecht, Netherlands
KVK: 95982671
Email: yurimkorean00@gmail.com
Korean Learning Club is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Korean Learning Club, we may collect:
- Name and email address
- Contact information
- Lesson and course registrations
- Korean language level, level-test responses, and results
- Purchase and subscription information
- Communications and newsletter preferences
- Where unavoidable in a recorded group lesson, limited screen image, display name or voice
- Website usage, device, browser, IP address, and cookie-related information
Payment card information is generally processed directly by our payment provider rather than stored by Korean Learning Club.
3. Why We Use Your Information
Providing Lessons and Services
We use your information to provide lessons, courses, subscriptions, and learning materials. The legal basis is generally the performance of our contract with you.
Level Test and Free Resources
If you complete our Korean level test or request a free resource, we may process your answers, results, name, and email address to provide the requested result or resource.
Newsletter and Marketing
If you sign up for Korean-learning tips, resources, or course announcements, we may use your email address for this purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe option.
Payments
We process purchase and transaction information to manage payments, subscriptions, invoices, refunds, and accounting.
Group Lesson Recordings
Recordings are used to provide missed-lesson review access to students enrolled in the relevant group. Where recording is part of the purchased course, the primary legal basis is performance of the learning-service contract. Limited security and access logging may also be processed for our legitimate interest in preventing unauthorised sharing, subject to your rights.
We aim to capture the teacher and lesson materials only and to minimise student screen and voice collection. Students receive a visible and spoken notice before recording begins and can ask about practical privacy options before class.
Only enrolled students with current access may view a recording. Downloading, redistribution and third-party sharing are prohibited. Access ends 30 days after the final course lesson. Recordings are scheduled for deletion within 60 days after the final course lesson, unless a legal obligation or active claim requires limited longer retention.
Website Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, interactions, and visit duration. We use this information to improve our content and services. Google Analytics remains disabled unless you select “Accept analytics cookies” in our privacy settings. We do not enable advertising storage or personalised advertising through this implementation.
4. Services We Use
We may use providers for customer relationship management, email communication, payments, analytics, cookies, video hosting, online learning, scheduling, and website hosting.
Active providers may include HubSpot for contact and form management, Stripe for payments and subscription management, Google Analytics for consent-based website analytics, Luma for the embedded event calendar, and Netlify for website hosting and contact or waitlist form processing.
5. Cookies and Similar Storage
We use limited browser storage that is necessary to remember service settings, preserve level-test progress during a browser session, record your analytics preference, and support site administration or purchase-consent records. These necessary technologies do not require analytics consent.
If you choose “Accept analytics cookies”, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies including _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie. These help distinguish visits and understand website usage. Their duration is controlled by our Google Analytics settings and may be up to two years. Google may process analytics data outside the European Economic Area using applicable transfer safeguards.
Analytics is off by default. You may refuse it without losing access to the website and can change or withdraw your choice at any time using in the footer. Withdrawing analytics consent removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and stops Analytics from loading on later page views.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for its purpose or where retention is required by law. Where possible, information no longer required is deleted or anonymised. Group-recording access and deletion periods are described in Section 3 above.
7. International Data Transfers
Some technology providers may process personal information outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, receive, or transfer your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, contact yurimkorean00@gmail.com.
9. Complaints
If you have concerns, please contact us first. You also have the right to submit a complaint to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority.
10. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, although no online system can guarantee complete security.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version and update date will be published here.
